Glenkinchie Distillery and Afternoon tea at Winton House

Glenkinchie Distillery
By popular demand, the site visit for EurOMA 2017 has been organised for tour around the Glenkinchie whisky distillery in East Lothian, a 30 minute coach ride through the Scottish countryside, outside of Edinburgh.

The visit includes a tour of the distillery, 2 whisky tasting per person and £5.00 voucher to spend in the Glenkinchie whisky shop.

During the tour EurOMA delegates will have the opportunity to visit the unique exhibition on the original Malting Floors, home to the renowned model distillery. We will be then met a guide and led through the distillery production area, learning how the ‘water of life’ is produced. To finish the tour, we will be invited to the bar for a tasting of Glenkinchie Single Malt Whisky.

Winton House
Following the whisky tour, EurOMA will delegates will be taken for afternoon tea at Winton House, set in a large estate between Pencaitland and Tranent in East Lothian, where EurOMA delegates will have exclusive use of the house and gardens during their visit

The house dates back to 1480 and boasts 400-year-old stone carved chimneys and original plasterwork ceilings.  The contents include literature, antique furniture and original artworks, including works by Canaletto and Van Dyke. The house remains the home of Sir Francis Ogilvy and his young family who live in a self-contained wing of the property.
